What is Tele-rehabilitation?2021-04-07T18:35:43+00:00

Tele-rehabilitation/Telephysio/Telehealth is the use of everyday technology like laptops, tablets, or phones, to connect you and your physiotherapist to each other through video conference call to receive physiotherapy services from wherever is convenient for you. If you are interested in more details you can find more information on how we assess you here at our blog.

Why do I need it?2020-12-23T15:40:29+00:00

Tele-rehabilitation is quick, convenient and easy to use, and can be used by anyone in B.C. It is a great place to get started with your rehabilitation process to start recovering from your injury. If we are unable to help, we can help find you someone who can!

What is it appropriate for?2021-02-23T15:24:22+00:00

Tele-rehabilitation can be used to treat and assess a wide variety of conditions both acute and chronic. During your initial assessment, your physiotherapist can determine if further hands-on assessment is required. Alternatively, if you have specific questions about your condition ahead of time you can contact us to see if Tele-rehabilitation is appropriate for you.

  • Most common examples:
    • Acute/chronic injury management
    • Questions regarding current treatment plan you may already have
    • Modify/progress existing exercise program or plan
    • Progressing your return to sport/activity
What is it not appropriate for?2020-12-23T15:41:51+00:00

Clients who are not located in British Columbia.

What do I need?2021-02-23T15:23:42+00:00
  •  A quiet, private space, free of distractions is best – however we can adapt to whatever environment is available.
  • Headphones (with mic) help to improve audio quality and reduce background noise
  • Access to an Android or iOS device with the PhysiApp application downloaded on it. There is more information below in “getting started with your appointment”
  • Space to move and a yoga-mat is a bonus!
How do I pay?2021-01-14T19:09:33+00:00
  • Your physiotherapist will input your credit card information into our online booking and billing software, Jane App, on your first appointment. The information will be securely stored and the number obscured.
  • The credit card will only be used to process payment for tele-rehabilitation sessions.
  • A receipt will be emailed to you upon payment which can be submitted to your insurance company. We do not do direct billing at this time.

Will insurance reimburse my session?2020-12-23T16:21:13+00:00

Yes! Most extended health benefits cover physiotherapy sessions. Each plan is different, so if you have specific questions regarding coverage you will need to contact your provider. At the end of each session a receipt will be e-mailed to you that you can use for re-imbursement with your insurance provider.
